About the Event

This seminar will provide education about the dynamics of domestic violence, types of abuse, and power and control tactics abusers may use. Participants will gain a greater understanding of the impacts of domestic violence on survivors, their loved ones, and the community. While sexual violence continues to affect the lives of many, there are still many myths about what it is and how to help. This presentation will also define sexual violence/abuse and explain how society can impact the ways we interact with survivors. Both topics will include survivor-centered, trauma-informed, advocacy-based ways to support survivors and provide resources.

This program will be presented by a Turning Point representative. Participants will leave with knowledge of Turning Point (a 501C3 non-profit organization located in Mt. Clemens, MI) services and ways to get involved. Event is open to the public. RSVP in this page. Due to the sensitivity of the topics, children attendance is at the parent's discretion.

Please contact Sherry Appleton at bappleton@comcast.net or 810-335-1838 for any questions.
